Back to the ghosts

Common Crane - Kraanvogel - Grus grus

After joining Han Bouwmeester on a Crane photography trip last year, I wanted to go back when there were more Cranes this year. The last count was 41.923 birds on November 2nd, so this seemed like a good moment. Despite the poor light (we had like 1 minute of sun the whole day) we had a great day. We saw many Cranes, both in large groups as in small family groups. The latter were not always really shy, so I managed to make some nice family portraits like this one.

More pictures can be seen on my website (under recent pictures).
