Leopard Seal - Zeeluipaard - Hydrurga leptonyx
A close up of a Leopard Seal on the ice

Leopard Seals are one of the top predators in the Antarctic. Even though their diet consists up to 50% of krill, they are mostly known for their appetite for penguins.

Today I saw this movie about a close encounter with a Leopard Seal by Paul Nicklen. He sees a huge Leopard Seal, goes into the water to film it and then something strange happens….

A photographers dream, or more a nightmare??
