Winter in the Netherlands often means temperatures above freezing, rain and grey days. We hardly get snow and if there is a little, it melts away before you can have any fun with it. Now it’s all different.
This week the temperatures have been most of the time below zero and last night it started to snow. And not just a little, but heaps. When I woke up and looked out of my window it looked like a winter wonderland. At least 10cm snow at that time and it was still snowing. School closed early as we hardly had any pupils (or teachers), so suddenly I had time to go out and enjoy the snow!
The only problem was where to go, or better how to get there… No busses, taxi’s and less trains. And riding my bike wasn’t such a good idea either. So I ended up walking a bit towards the Hoornse Meer. As there was only little light due to the dense clouds it was quite hard to find good photo opportunities. Fortunately the weather seems to stay like this for a while, so I’ll get more possibilities 🙂
