In search for Muskoxen, part III

Snowscapes are nice but the goal of the trip was to find and photograph Muskoxen. We were very lucky to see the first ones (at a large distance) already on the first morning. It took us 3 more days to come anywhere near them. This picture was taken on the morning before we got really close. Even though the animals are impressive up close, they are just a small dot in the wide landscape of the fjell. This picture also shows the difficulties they have to find food in winter. Almost everything is snow-covered and only a few places have a little bit of lichen available.
