Nodding Lychnis

After the first week of August the summer is really over. The trees (yes, those tiny Polar Willows) turn yellow and orange, giving some nice colours to the tundra. The other flowers are also gone. These Nodding Lychnis plants have already lost their petals, but the campions were still standing. Not for long probably, a few hours after I took this picture the first snow of the autumn was falling….
