Back in time

the Drentsche Aa

Last weekend I prepared one of our new nature photography workshops, the new basic scenery photography workshop in the national park the Drentsche Aa. The Drentsche Aa is a small stream that meanders through the landscape. That landscape is still roughly the same as it was over a hundred years ago. Small scale farmland, small heathlands and wooded banks between them. All very much like in the previous turn of the century. If you look even closer, you can even find older traces like some dolmen from the Neolithic period, ca. 3400BC.

This landscape is of course very nice for landscape photography, with a lot of different types of landscapes on a short stretch. Interested (and living in the Netherlands)? Come and have a look!
