Back again

Trygghamna at night

I’m back again. Still on Spitsbergen for a few days, but back into the civilization of Longyearbyen. I had a great trip on Noorderlicht again, even though the weather wasn’t that good and we had some problems getting ashore due to wind, ice and/or Polar Bears. During the cruise the horrible new reached us of a member of a British group was killed by a Polar Bear. For the people that were worried, I was at the other site of the archipelago and wasn’t involved in any way. More on that in a later story.

In the coming weeks I’ll post some pictures and stories of my past cruise. I hope you like them!

To start with, a picture of Trygghamna, our first anchorage of the trip. Beautiful evening light, ice in the fjord and Brunnich’s Guillemots with their chicks all around us. A real magical moment.
