Camouflage

Grass Wave

For insects winter is a time of survival. It’s too cold to move, there is hardly anything to eat. Their best option is to hide and wait for spring. Insects can hibernate during all their stages of development. Especially the larger insects have to  make sure they aren’t discovered by predators during their hibernation. This caterpillar pretends to be a branch in the hope it’s not discovered. He’s doing a great job, but he only forgot that grass doesn’t have branches….
