As you probably have noticed from my lack of posts, I’m on a road trip. Not for photography, but as an exchange program with my school. We have an exchange program with a Gymnasium in Severomorsk, near Murmansk, Russia. This is really special as this is a closed military city where even normal Russians can’t go. We get special permission to visit the school. As we were not allowed to stay overnight in the town. Every morning we had to pass a military checkpoint to get in. This made it even more special to come here. Apart from the very hospitable and warm welcome from the Russians of course. Here you can find a short tv-fragment of our visit to Gymnasium I.
Inside the city just seemed like any other, with only some naval ships in the harbor. This statue commemorates the soldiers that have fallen during the defense of the city and region during the Second World War.
