Silence

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp

I like talking. There are not a lot of moments that I don’t know what to say. But when we visited Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, just north of Berlin, I fell silent. The Stasi prison of the previous day was impressive, this definitely beat it. There was not that much visible anymore, a few barracks, the surrounding walls and watch towers and the foundations of all the barracks, but the idea of all the horror that had happened there… Chilling and very impressive. The grey weather and fresh snow cover did add to this atmosphere.

To emphasise this, I used a very light sepia conversion on the image and added some good old grain to the image.

May we never forget.
