A cold sunset

View from the campsite, Longyearbyen

One of the new things for me this past trip was seeing the sun set and the darkness afterwards. Until this time, I’ve only spent summers in the high Arctic and sunsets, let alone darkness, isn’t happening at all in summer. I must admit, I had seen pictures of Arctic sunsets, but I was still surprised by them. I had already seen some nice light towards the west, but never had the idea to put up my time-lapse equipment. Unfortunately, as the colours kept on improving each minute… This was at around sunset, really nice colours.
