It’s always nice to observe special behaviour in birds and even nicer to capture it in a photo. While the two Snow Buntings were feeding, not bothered by our presence and coming closer and closer, suddenly their behaviour changed. They stopped feeding, didn’t move at all and tried to make themselves as small as possible. When we looked around (after taking this picture of course), it turned out a Kestrel was flying around, no doubt looking for a Snow Bunting-sized snack… When the falcon had gone, the buntings continued feeding, keeping an eye out for the return of the Kestrel…
