
This was the last image I made on Spitsbergen last summer. A symbolic image, as it shows a sunset, something that didn’t happen for 3 months up there. After all that time of continuous daylight, the sun did set again. Not that it stayed below the horizon long enough get the stars out though, but still.
Now I’m back at Spitsbergen. A lot has changed since I left 1.5 month ago. It’s colder and snowing regularly. No more 24 hours of daylight that allows us to go out whenever we want. We’ve only got a few hours left, and of course a nice sunset afterwards. And then who knows what the night wil bring…
