The lagoon in front of Recherchebreen in Bellsund looks a bit like the famous Jökulsárlón in Iceland. Well, I think so at least, as I’ve never been to Jökulsárlón. But it’s also a lagoon in front of a glacier, resulting in many small icebergs washing ashore. For me (and many of the guests) this was one of the highlights of the trip. The first time we wanted to go ashore here, it was completely overcast and only very little light. As it would be a pity to visit a stunning place like this and hardly be able to see anything, we decided to change plans and come back another day. The next day it looked a lot better. Still partly overcast, but the sun managed to peek through the clouds now and then giving some warm accents occasionally. It was really nice to see the look of surprise on the guests faces when we rounded the corner and had the first look at the glacier. We spent quite some time at the shore of the lagoon, enjoying the silence and the experience and taking lots of pictures.
