Gentoo penguins at Gabriel Gonzales Videla

Of course, one of the main attractions of Antarctica are penguins. And many close ups are made during a trip. But I like to start with a picture where the penguins play a less important role. Here you see a Gentoo Penguin colony in Paradise Bay in the surrounding nature. A pure white world, with suddenly a bit of dark, orange or brown and of course the black and white of the penguins. Oh, and let’s not forget the smell… Somehow the penguins seem misplaced, spoiling the unspoilt continent… But still, it’s a nice sight…
