In wintertime large schools of Herring gather around the west coast of Senja, Northern Norway, creating a food source for many. Fishermen go out in small fishing vessels, followed by big groups of gulls. But also marine mammals join the feast. Both Humpback as Killer Whales join the party, enjoying the richness of these fjords. Often the Orca’s first find the food, followed by the Humpbacks and gulls, with the fishermen circling around. And of course the sv Noorderlicht, with many happy passengers onboard enjoying this spectacle.
I’m trying to imagine, too, how cold it must have been out there!!
