The past 8 day’s I’ve spent at sea sailing from the Cape Verde Islands along the west African coastline, passing the Canary Islands and ending on Madeira. Our main goal was to see different sea birds and marine mammals. And we succeeded in finding both. With a very fanatic group of birders I don’t think many birds or mammals will have passed our ship unnoticed.
Common Bottlenose Dolphins were regular visitors to our ship. These playful animals were often seen bow riding or, like this one, jumping completely out of the water. Quite difficult to capture as a photographer as these jumps are really quick, but I was fortunate enough to capture a few.
Spot on. Amazing to watch.
