What are you doing?

Little Auk

Sometimes you wonder who is looking at who. When we were visiting the Little Auk colony near Bjørndalen last week, we managed to get really close to these funny creatures. When you approach the colony they welcome you with their laughter. Most of the time they don’t mind at all having a few humans around at their colony and if you sit down and only move when they are scared off by a Glaucous Gull flying overhead, you can come quite close. When you sit down and sit still, they will return to their favourite stones, even if they are close to you. Here they laugh a little more and sometimes they suddenly seem to realise someone is sitting next to them and have a look, like this one did.
