The end of August marks the start of autumn on Spitsbergen. The first snow starts to fall, definitely on the mountaintops, but sometimes also at sea level and the tundra gets their autumn colours as well. Even though the trees aren’t really big, only a few cm tall, their leaves turn yellow, orange and red, giving the tundra an autumn feeling. We were just back on the ship when the sun peeked through the clouds. I just had to get back out to take a few pictures.
Awesome scenery
