Basalt columns in Vikingebugt

As I wrote in a previous post, my knowledge of geology is very limited. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy them. These basalt columns in East Greenland looked a bit like a church  organ with all the pipes and contrasted nicely with the yellow and red colours of the plants underneath.

  • Very interesting to see how some columns they are not supported from below but from “adhesion” of columns next to it. A different look from the ones near Mammoth, CA. Thank for sharing.
