All birders who come to Spitsbergen want to see the Ivory Gull. This pure white bird, with only a little colour on its bill and black legs and eyes is often considered the most beautiful bird in the Arctic. Antarctica has its own snow angel: the Snow Petrel. It has even less colour as the Ivory Gull as its beak is black as well.
So far this Antarctic season has been one with a lot of Snow Petrels. I’ve managed to make several nice series of them, of which I’ll show a few here. To start with, a portrait just to show the beauty of these birds.
Oh so glorious — thank you so much.
