A very special place

Captain Scott’s hut from the Terra Nova Expedition at Cape Evans

I guess we all know the story. Scott and Amundsen both trying to reach the South Pole as the first human ever. Amundsen beating Scott by only a few weeks and returning triumphantly, while Scott would perish on the way back only to be found much later. It’s one of the best known stories of Polar exploration, or maybe even global exploration. For me it was really special to be able to land at Cape Evans and visit the hut where Scott and his party left for the South Pole. To be able to walk around in his hut, see how they lived and see the spectacular scenery around it was a great privilege for me.
