Not so fearsome?

Leopard Seals have the name to be fearsome predators. And yes, when you see the pictures of Leopard Seals ripping a penguin apart they don’t look too friendly. And their grim look doesn’t improve things either. However, 50% of their diet consists of krill, far more as any other top predator.

In the past Antarctic season we had a really curious Leopard Seal who, after having eaten a penguin was extremely interested in our zodiacs. This gave all of us really nice photo opportunities.
