Small butterflies

Special flora results in special butterflies. Butterflies are often specialised in only a few plant species and if that plant species only grows in a few places, the butterfly will do the same.

Most people think of butterflies as large brightly coloured insects. And often they are. But some are not. The skippers are such a group. Small, dull coloured and very inconspicuous. But even so, it’s nice to find them, run after them and manage to get a few nice pictures of these butterflies who are really rare in the Netherlands.
