The southernmost fjord on Spitsbergen, Hornsund, is sometimes referred to as Spitsbergen’s most Antarctic fjord. Not because it’s the fjord closest to Antarctica, still a long way off though, but more because of its spectacular scenery with many glaciers and steep mountains. Often it is overcast so you can’t see too much of this (apart from the glaciers), but when we are lucky it clears up and you can see the fjord in its true glory.
