When we approached our anchorage for the night at Magdelenafjord, we noticed this beautiful crystal-like iceberg. And we also noticed the light… Sometimes there was a small gap in the dark clouds, illuminating this piece of ice.

After we dropped anchor most photographers stayed outside, waiting for more gaps in the clouds and until the ship had turned in such a way that we could get the right background… Debate started what the right background would be. Most were in favour of the dark mountains. I waited until the berg was away from the mountains and in front of the dark clouds.
My better half is called Magdalene (or the equivalent in her language). I showed what sort of beauty goes on in her namesake fjord, she was really impressed. What an incredible place, Svalbard!
