When we reach the sea ice a period of hard work starts for us, the guides on the ships. For most people who book an expedition cruise to the Arctic seeing a Polar Bear is one of the main reasons to do so. And then preferably on the ice and close to the ship. Hours are spent on the bridge or the outside decks with our eyes glued to our binoculars in search for this ‘mayonaise coloured’ blob on the ice. And when you succeed and the bear comes to the ship it is always a great feeling and a relief, as it always is an important part for a successful trip.
