Playing around

With a new toy (i.e. a drone) it’s a lot of fun to play around and to practice. What are the possibilities and how do you operate one, but also, how do very familiar places look from above.

The old (right) and new (left) Berkel

This place is a little nature area close to where I grew up. I spent hours here looking for woodpeckers, Reed Warblers and, finally Kingfishers. The small river on the left is an old, unused branch of the river Berkel, seen on the right. Since I left this place, they gave the Berkel more space to meander and to flood after heavy rainfall, creating a bit of wetland in between the two branches. For me really nice to see this area from above for a change, giving a much better overview as from the ground.
