NatuReview 2017: Filming

Something new this year was that I focussed a lot more on filming. In September 2016 I bought a dedicated film camera, which I started to use more and more this year. For me, it’s a nice addition to making still images and it allows me to tell stories in a different way. Also, it can be a nice addition to the lectures I give every now and then. Here an overview of some of the movies I made this year. Some of them were relatively quick productions I made on the ship during a trip as a present for guests, but others took a lot longer to film and put together.

It opens up a whole new world for me, where a lot of new things come together. Suddenly, I have to think about storylines, sound recording, background music, camera angles and the colour grading and editing is also quite different. A lot of work, but really nice to do as well.
