The Lemaire Channel is also known as the ‘Kodak Lane’. Most likely this has something to do with the number of pictures taken while sailing through it. With the start of the digital era and the increase in Antarctic tourism, this number has only increased (though I haven’t seen anybody use kodak anymore in quite some time). But when you sail through this narrow passage, you understand why. It is stunningly beautiful and always different. Sun, clouds, ice, open water, all these changes and will make the experience different each time and makes me, even after several crossings, grab my camera almost every time.
These are beautiful! My Florida self would freeze, but I am happy you made the trip! 😀
