Fur Seals

The other species of seal on Lagoon Island was the Antarctic Fur Seal. Just like the Elephant Seals a species I know well from South Georgia and later in the season moves to the Peninsula. On this island, many males were hauling out, something to be aware of, as they can be really aggressive and bite hard.

Fortunately, they all stayed at a reasonable distance, and we could have a nice look at them in the fresh snow.
