MOVIE: Heath Fritillary

Last weekend I went hiking for some friends. We went to the Hautes Fagnes, an area in Belgium. Even though I didn’t really pay too much attention to what was flying around me, the weekend was mainly meant for hiking and having fun with old friends, I still noticed several nice species of butterfly. I didn’t even have a decent camera with me, and only took a few quick shots with my iPhone, but my interest in butterflies was raised again.

This weekend, I visited my dad and I wanted to try to make a short movie about the critically endangered Heath Fritillary, that I knew could be found near his home in the forest. I hope this to be the start of a new series, about Dutch butterfly species on the Red List.
