Stinky Minkes

Usually, Minke Whales aren’t our favourites. They are fast and erratic swimmers and usually only surface two or three times before disappearing again. Sometimes, however, we get lucky and find one that shows a little more.

Minke Whale

This trip, we got the call over the radio from the bridge, that they saw jumping whales. I quickly grabbed my camera and headed to the bow. I was just quick enough to see it lift its head entirely out of the water before it disappeared. For a Minke Whale still a beautiful sight.
