For me, trips to East Greenland are all about the scenery. There isn’t a lot of wildlife to be found, but the dramatic landscape with its steep, towering mountains and massive icebergs definitely makes up for that. Especially Rødefjord and Øfjord in the inner parts of Scoresbysund are breathtaking.

Our planned landing and zodiac cruise at Rode Ø was cancelled due to fog. This meant we had more time for a ships cruise through Rodefjord, which was even more spectacular due to the lifting fog. In the end, we turned into Øfjord, with fewer icebergs, but even steeper mountains. Even though the sun had set, the colours and patterns were still amazing.
It is truly beautiful there, wish to be able to have more time and voyages to East Greenland. Thank you for the post Arjen

Yes, it would be nice to come to this beautiful part of the world more often. However, maybe this makes us appreciate this even more.
