Bear on glacier ice

Bears love ice, preferably pack ice, as that’s the easiest platform for them to hunt for seals, but glacier ice will do as well. For photography, glacier ice is really nice, as the blue colours nicely contrast with the yellow colours of the bear.

This trip, we got lucky and found a female bear resting on a small iceberg. Not bothered by us at all, she kept cleaning her paws and then went for a little nap, giving us ample opportunity to enjoy this Queen of the Arctic.
