This bear clearly had enough. Enough of chasing after seals (as the seal in the previous post was just one floe away and he didn’t seem to be too bothered by it), enough of tourists watching him (not that he seemed to be too bothered by our presence either). He found a nice big floe of fjord ice and had a rest right in the middle of it. Every now and then he had a bit of a look around and then went back to sleep.

For us, it made it a bit difficult to give the guests a good look at the bear as often he was hidden behind chunks of ice, but hey, it’s nature that decides and observing a Polar Bear in its natural environment is always nice.
Wow, what a world. Thanks so much for giving us this look at ice floes and the polar bear, Arjen. I’m in the early stages of planning a trip to Svalbard in 2021, and you just greased the wheels.
