We had overcast weather for most of our week in Finish Lapland. Where this works well to keep the contrast under control and creates a lovely black and white look, a bit of colour can be nice as well. So on the day when the weather forecast promised good weather, we went out for a good hike along a frozen lake.

Suddenly there was a contrast between the warmer coloured snow that was lit by the sun and the more blue snow in the shade. The downside of the clear skies was that the temperature plummeted. The sun only had little power and now there were no clouds to trap the little heat there was. When the sun disappeared behind the mountain, the blue won. Soon we got some orange in return when the low sun was lighting up the mountaintop, giving us a nice colourful end to a beautiful day.
