Getting around

With this much snow (around 1.5 meters), it can be difficult to walk around in the forest. Without any help, I was sinking in to my waist right away. Fortunately, our cabin came equipped with both snowshoes and cross-country skies, so we were quickly set to get out.

Snowshoes make it possible to cross terrain like this

Making a trail in fresh snow on snowshoes is hard work, but it gives you the opportunity to go places otherwise not possible. It’s a really nice feeling to walk around in a completely new world, where it seems no one has ever walked before and to enjoy this winter wonderland.20200218_Arjen_Drost_76991.jpg
