The Diepholzer Moor in Germany is an important staging area for Common Cranes on their migration between their breeding grounds in Scandinavia and their wintering grounds in southern Europe and Africa. At the peak there can be 80.000 birds resting in the area.
Last autumn, I went there for a couple of days to film these magnificent birds. Here you can enjoy the movie (don’t forget to switch on the sound). This is one of the first movies I make without any music and with a voice over.
I hope you enjoy it.
Really appreciated this film Arjen. That we are able to witness crane migration is a wonderful thing, and your film does a good job of highlighting the utter beauty of the gathering of these magnificent birds, with the pastel colors, peaceful open fields, and their magical voices.

Thank you, Jet. I’m also quite pleased with it, I must admit.
